India International and Bengaluru FC defender Rahul Bheke has suffered from an injury and will not be able to join the national team preparatory camp ahead of the crucial FIFA World Cup Qualifier game against neighbours Bangladesh.

Rahul Bheke had started for India in their previous two FIFA World Cup Qualifier games. The 28-year-old defender put in an impressive display for India against Qatar in the recent match. His absence against Bangladesh will provide an opportunity for other right-backs to step up, deliver and stake claim on that position.
Since moving to Bengaluru FC, the defender has been sensational for the Bengaluru-based ISL outfit. Last season, the defender was an imposing figure on Bengaluru FC’s backline, who eventually went on to win the league.
India’s fixture against Bangladesh is very crucial for Igor Stimac and Co. The Blue Tigers have garnered only one point from first two fixtures and need a victory to move up the point table. Bangladesh, placed 187th in the FIFA World Ranking, provides India with that opportunity.
